H.L. The exploration of Antarctica is an interesting lyrical concept, but "Story of frozen Souls" also adds the perfect musical background. Ice-cold black metal with progressive and multi-faceted songwriting, full of ideas and special ingredients. Though symphonic, this ambitious opus is not catchy in first instance. It takes some time and dedication to get lost in the icy stories, but it is worth it. Check "The Tentacles of Winter", "The Land of Fierce Frosts" or "Impenetrable Sadness". Favorite track: 05 - The Tentacles of Winter.

mourner An album full of inspiration and great ideas creating an intense atmosphere that scarcely can be found elswhere. The progressive elements add a lot to the depth of the songs. The symphonic parts make the whole album sound great and full. Whether aggressive or doomy - all the emotions are right on point. State of the art songwriting skills make this album an diversified experience and reward the devoted listener big time. This is extremely well done and I can't recommend it highly enough.

UTBURD present new work about loneliness and heroism, as well as about personal feat and the tragedy of loss. Cold, blizzards, storm and loneliness of the polar night - that's what awaits the listeners of the new opus entitled "Story of Frozen Souls". The concept album will tell about the exploration of Antarctica, the discovery of new lands and the first travels. The collective image of the heroes-discoverers James Ross, Ernest Shackleton and Robert Scott, seasoned with Edgar Poe's story about the adventures of Arthur Gordon Pym, coupled with viscous, gravitating riffs, voluminous compositions full of Antarctic cold and oppressive darkness, will make the listeners wrap themselves up in a warmer hour exploration of the icy continent. Sound experiments, frosty atmosphere, stormy blast beats, guest vocals, live flute and lyrics full of despair and hope - this is what the new work from the polar project Utburd is filled with.
